Cybermen (sai¥bar¥men), the-American popart combo from
Sept., 1987 to March, 1989. Possessing a sound best described as Jeff Beck
sitting in with the Who, this Mod-pop quintet introduced the world to their
brand of Swinging London tunesmithing with their debut single, "She's Raining,"
in the fall of 1988. Garnering even greater attention by opening for such
luminaries as the Didjits, the Flaming Lips, the Fluid and the Cynics the
Cybermen went on to release their second single, "Every Night and Day."
Seven years after their demise Estrus records has taken it upon themselves
to re-release not only the aforementioned singles but also the previously
unreleased track, "Six Million Light Years Down." all of this in a package
simply entitled, "The Cybermen." So remember years before today's crop
of mop top popsters hit the airwaves there was the aRt & Beat of the
Cybermen. Long live the Cybermen!
